Top Tips for Overnight Oats

Our Odlum’s Porridge range is full of nutritious and delicious Irish oats. Enjoy these even more by making overnight oats.

Tips:

  • Add enough liquid – Remember that overnight the oats absorb the liquid. We recommend a ratio of 2:1
  • Try different milk – almond and coconut milk provide delicious flavour to this breakfast dish
  • Choose your oat – Odlum’s Pinhead or Rolled oats will give you a different consistency and texture. Play around with what suits you
  • Mix it up with toppings – fruit, nut butter, chia seeds – the choice is yours
  • Get added nutrition with protein powder or swap sugar for sweetener
  • Make it aesthetic by serving in a glass jar

    Thanks for sharing the recipe.
    A question about the ratio.
    You say 2:1.
    Is that 2 parts milk to 1 part oats?
    Or 2 parts oats to 1 part milk?

      Hi David,
      My personal preference is to double the liquid to oats. This gives the oats loads of liquid (and flavour) that it can absorb – super yummy!
