Mileeven Irish Honey

Taste Ireland welcomes Mileeven Irish Honey to Australia.

Their Story

Mileeven was established in 1988 by Eilis Gough as Joe, her husband, kept bees as a hobby. Being from Dublin you would wonder how Eilis ended up beekeeping in Kilkenny! On a rainy evening, stuck in traffic, Eilis and Joe decided that there must be something else to do. So, they took up an evening course, to avoid the traffic. That course was beekeeping.

Starting with two hives in the back garden of their house in Donabate, everything seemed normal with this hobby! Fast forward a few years and a move to Piltown, Co Kilkenny where space was not an issue, the two hive hobby grew to a 100 hive job, and Mileeven was born.

"Mil" is the Irish for honey and "Aoibhinn" (pronounced "eeven") means delightful! Delightful honey it is.

The family behind Mileeven Irish honey, Eilis and her daughter Sarah

Mileeven is run by Eilis along with Sarah, her daughter, in Piltown, Co Kilkenny. With increased success, the range has increased to include other honeys as well as Irish honey, such as Manuka honey, Organic honey, Honeycomb, Lavender honey. Sticking with the brand promise, all products stay true to the quality that is good for the bees and great for taste.

All of their honeys are pure, raw honey.
