A bag of Tayto?
How many businesses can attribute their success to something so small and tasty? ;)
Yes it sounds crazy but all started from one small bag of Tayto crisps.
It was also the first bag of Tayto crisps ever sold / auctioned in Australia!
It was a sunny day (of course)
Eamon our CEO, then a backpacker was involved in a charity event called 'Gaelic Idol' for a local GAA team at The Pine Inn in Burwood. (Eamon was NOT singing, thank god)
Eamon's Mam, that week had sent him over a few bags of Tayto as he was missing them (and the tastes of home). Yes he is spoiled by his Mammy!
In between acts, for fun they auctioned off one single bag of Tayto crisps which went for $25 to a man from Kilkenny who romantically gave it to his Galway girlfriend.
Eamon soon quit his full time job concreting and funnily stored his first pallet of Tayto cheese & onion in his Bedroom, delivering to Irish Pubs at night....
And that's where the idea came from and that’s where it started. Taste Ireland.

The online store was launched in 2004 to satisfy the movement of Irish expats globally.
Large contracts with Woolworths and Coles were secured in 2011 and 2013 respectively.
We share the Taste of Ireland through our extensive national distribution network and growing our partnerships with leading and innovative European food manufacturers.
And we have great craic while doing it and plenty of tea to solve any problem along the way!
